El professor Enric Guaus va participar al New Interfaces for Musical Expression++ que tingué lloc a Sydney del 15 al 18 de juny del 2010, amb la presentació del seu treball A gesture caption system for guitar left hand based on capacitive sensors. Durant el congrés, hi havia diferents instal.lacions i concerts, dels quals aquí se'n presenta un petit recull.

La roda telefònica, un homenatge al món de les comunicacions a distància, explota el processament de mostres de sons telefònics en temps real amb un setup de cinc portàtils encadenats, de forma que cadascun rebi la mostra modificada per l'anterior, la modifiqui al seu torn i la reenviï al següent. Un dels portàtils va llençant mostres a la roda i en controla els torns. Podeu escoltar a l'inici de la peça el tipus de modificacions que fa cada músic, si bé a mesura que s'acumulen i el temps entre torns disminueix, el resultats són cada cop més complexes fins a generar comportaments emergents i caòtics propers a la realimentació analògica.

Trio de marimba, violí i theremin per a ensemble i robots

Una combinació que vam pensar que seria interessant en un directe: live-coding i robots musicals. Dos intèrprets programen amb Chuck patrons melòdics en temps real, i s'envien per MIDI a tres instruments robotitzats: el ThereMidi d'en Quim Llimona i la marimba i el violí robotitzats d'en Joan Vallbé. El resultat és molt fotogènic amb la ironia afegida que els humans programin a segon terme mentre els protagonistes siguin instruments automatitzats.

This is actually a demonstration of damped harmonic oscillation. The metronome needles are at the same speed & the only variable left is time. When he adds the board there is a transfer of angular momentum because of the phenomenon of Angular momentum as a generator of rotation. As the soda cans move, angular momentum is being transferred from the needle, to the system & cans. This transfer of angular momentum is the damping force. This & conservation of angular momentum makes the needles sync
